How to Plan An Unusual Party – Relive Your Childhood

Parties are a great way to bring people together to celebrate something. Be it a birthday, a promotion, or just to hang out. But, what if you want to do something that is outside the standard fare? And links back to your childhood days? While you are in luck since we have a few suggestions that you could try out. And do not forget the balloons. 

Go Back to Your Childhood 

When it comes to throwing an unusual party, it is important to start with an idea. The idea should be something that you have not done before or that you have not done for a while. Let’s go with the latter.  

A childhood party may seem silly, but that is the point. It is a chance to go back to the past and relive those moments of childhood delights. Therefore, you can go all out with a bouncy castle, games of pass the parcel, and pin the tail on the donkey, etc.  

But, with a more adult twist. The parcel can have something that adults would love. And the tail on the donkey does not have to be a donkey. It can be something more sexy or silly. Maybe even an inside joke. Let your creativity take flight and add to some childhood moments to make them anew.

Outdoor Events 

The great outdoors is the best place to have a party. You can hike, picnic, swim, etc. But, you and your friends can also do something that you have never done before such as paintball or rock climbing. Or you can go on a scavenger hunt where each clue leads to a new parts of the park. They would have to figure out the riddles and clues. They can even dress up in costumes and play characters to add more to the event.   

You can even add certain challenges to them such as one cannot get off this bike to get the clues or another has to walk backwards, etc. Let your imagination flow, but remember to be and make sure that everyone is safe. 

Indoor Events 

Indoor events can be something fun like a board game night, or a watch together. But, you can take it in another direction. Instead of the usual hangout why not do a murder mystery? Or invent a new game? 

An idea could be to start watching something on TV, and at random times flick through to another channel, and back a few times. After a while, you can ask them to tell you the plot of the newly created movie you just made.  

But, tell them your plans beforehand otherwise, you would look random and disrespectful.  

There is also the opinion to have an online birthday party where you can do everything. However, everyone would be in their own homes. But, this can still be different and fun with dress-up, games, etc.  

Another option for an indoor party is to go to an escape room. These can be a lot of fun with some challenges involved. You can also make it a competition to see who finishes their room first. 

The Usual

Paperwork. And what we mean by this is the standard of making a date and time, as well as a place to host the party. This is all standard and has been many times before. But, it is needed. Plus, it is important to also note how much it will cost. If it is an at-home party then it would be cheaper than renting out a bouncy castle or going to an escape room.  

Plus, if you are going for an online party then it is also important to make sure that your guests get the links, beforehand.
