BBC at ARTHOUSE Meathbbc videoBBC films launch of the new ARTHOUSE Meath products

A film crew from BBC London followed ARTHOUSE Meath to Top Drawer in September. Earlier in the month the BBC had come to meet and film the clients, including Mel Young, Danny O'Sullivan and Peter Andrews, at the Meath Epilepsy Trust in Godalming, Surrey.

The producer had found ARTHOUSE Meath when we were exhibiting at KioskKiosk in August and were interested in how we were bringing the artists' work to the marketplace - “retail therapy” as they put it.

“It’s no longer art therapy but a social enterprise,” said their reporter, Ayshea Buksh. “Designs created by the artists at the Meath Epliepsy Trust are now being put on everyday objects and will be sold across the country... and their designs are already creating a buzz.”

ARTHOUSE Meath manager, Becky Sheraidah said “People with learning difficulties have abilities and there is a future for them as part of something in life, as part of the economy.”
